Yesterday was my birthday. I had such a lovely day, my mum came down the night before and we went to see The Woman In black then ate chinese in bed. When I woke up we had Peanut butter toast and tea in bed whilst I opened my presents. My wonderful housemates had stayed up well into the night to decorate the kitchen/living room and I wanted to cry when I saw it, it looked so beautiful. We got dressed and went for a walk round Spittlefield antique market then went over to Covent Garden. It was getting a bit late and the soldier was on his way so we made our way home, stopping at the shop to bulk buy Cherry B and Babycham (keeping it kitsch!) We got home and the soldier arrived, he met mum and she approves. Mum nearly missed her train because we were to busy doing the cake (which amy and sophia had each made, they were delicious and I might have some for breakfast this morning) We then all sat up stairs listening to the burlesque soundtrack having some drinks. We were all really tired so retired to our rooms. The soldier left at 6.00am this morning to go to Belgium and play GI’s for the weekend. He really outdid himself with the gifts, flowers and an incredibly generous amount of what katie did gift vouchers which I can use next week when we go to the launch of their new season. I had such a wonderful day, it was exactly what I’d hoped for really relaxed,good food, good company. I was also lucky enough to get some beautiful things, from mum :two 1950s dresses, bag and hat from Collectif,Frank Sinatra box set,Red Riding Hood and Rogers and Hammerstein DVD, Agent Provocateur perfume, vintage drinking glasses, and a holly broach, from the girls : home made cushion and bing crosby 78 from katie, flowers, notebook and old photos from belle, flowers, Alexander McQueen book and vintage postcards from Soph, Pokey Lafarge tickets and Inglorious Basterds from Rosie (and the bear jew) and probably the best homemade card from a very poorly Kate and quite abit of money from my family! I had a truly great day thank you to everyone that shared it with me! xxx
